Chris King XDR Driveshells SRAM Red Eagle AXS
Chris King announced today, via their social media networks, they are adding the Chris King XDR Driveshells to their lineup for their R45 and R45D Centerlock road hubs.
Originally created for SRAM’s RED eTap AXS cassettes, Chris Kings XDR freehub design opens the option to run Eagle cassettes. Don’t forget the spacer. The XDR freehub body is 1.85mm wider to all for clearance of smaller cassettes and spokes. According to SRAM, it’s possible to run an Eagle cassette on an XDR freehub with a spacer.
XDR driveshells from Chris King work with both XDR and XD cassettes. Caveat: XD driveshells will only work with compatible XD cassettes. So, will the XDR option replace the XD? Guess we’ll find out soon. Or, is this another standard?
