Press Release
Danny MacAskill shows us a whole new definition of steep with his new video riding the slabs in the Isle of Skye. This is riding we’ve not seen before from MacAskill. Exploring new terrain in his home in the Cuillins on the Isle of Skye. Building on the inspiration of world class mountain climbers, Danny figured it was time to take on the slabs. Great POV and drone footage making for an invigorating watch.
Isle of Skye Video Production
“The Slabs”, directed by Robbie Meade and Danny MacAskill, shows us Danny’s climb to the summit of Sgurr Dubh Beag / Little Black Peak at 2,432ft. This is one of the most technical zones of the Dubh Ridge. Danny navigates his way down that new definition of steep, on the Slabs, with large exposed steps, and drops. You can see the shores of Loch Coruisk in the distance at sea level.
It really felt so natural to be up on these faces on the edge of cliffs cycling down completely in control and fully trusting my brakes, my tires and the rest of my bike – and of course myself. It’s all about believing in your own skills and it was a cool experience out there and I really loved the feeling of it.
